Twisting

Variety in Twisting Technology

Yarns can be high-twist turned or twisted together with another yarn. Furthermore, a core thread can be covered, whereby only the sheath thread “does the work.” Another possibility is the cross twist, where one core thread is twisted in opposite directions by two other threads. The twists and blended yarns can be made on ring, floor, or two-for-one twisting machines. There are almost no limits to the variety of possible combinations.

Depending on the use of the individual yarns, different functions, looks, and properties can be created. Twisted yarns are mainly used in weaving. They can be directly warped and woven. The thread is extremely resistant to mechanical influences.
